Readers Write...

Like all of Clive's book, they are all worth much more than the selling price in the targets you will find. I've gone from finding a few coins here and there to knowing where and finding the gold and silver. With over $3,000 worth in finds the first year after buying one of his books, I can't wait to see what this year will bring with the recent purchase of two more of his recent books. I can't say enough about the value of these books.

I am now able to detect a deeper layer of sand after reading and applying techniques learned from Canadian Clive Clynick's book, Advanced Methods for Finding Gold in the Water with the Minelab Excalibur.  With proper tuning of the threshold and sensitivity greater depths and small targets are possible.  I had been over the same location where I found the ring twice this Fall.  I have high hopes that my 34 ring fall season will be eclipsed in 09 after getting the great coaching from Clive's book.   He has many other titles and I would highly recommend this author  to you.

The absolute best way you can learn that machine is to get Clive J. Clynicks book on the Excal called "Advanced Methods for Finding Gold in the Water with the Minelab Excalibur". It is an overwhelming machine when you don't have anyone around that uses one, and all of those tones sound the same... like jibberish! Get the book, it is WELL worth it, took months off of the learning curve for me. Don't let the "in the Water" part of the title worry you, it works the same in the wet as it does on the dry... Clive James Clynick has written a few books that cover the DFX . One of his books is titled "DFX From Beginner to Advanced". It has a lot of great information that might help you out.

Another book I just recently read and recommend is titled "Site-Reading" for Gold and Silver, by Clive James Clynick. In my opinion "Site -Reading" is unique as a complete work on the subject of how to judge the potential of a new site, where the most likely "hot spots" are located, etc..
Hope this helps and good luck with your new metal detector !

Hey Arthur, Clive Clynicks book on the Sov gives a lot of info on all metal hunting. Thats the place I would recommend where you do some research. The all metal mode is deeper and by quite a bit. I usually only use it when Im not getting any signals in disc, when we are sanded in here at the shore. or if Im digging and loose my signal because the target has fallen out of the disc modes ran

Re: Clive your 2 books are Excellent and well worth the $15 bucks a piece. I have dug a hell of a lot of GOLD with your advice. More then the $30 I spent.by Tinfoil –

Good, informative reading, I continue to review the chap. by mr007s

...bought my GT from a DFX user that couldn't stand the "pinball" sounds either and I got a heck of a deal on a 1 hour old machine. Do get the book from Clive Clynick, "Finding Gold, Silver and Coins with the Minelab Sovereign" this book will really shorten your learning curve. Great information on how to read the tones.

I have 3 of your books and have read them carefully. I've picked up some great ideas from you and, particularly with my DFX, I 've definitely improved my "recovery rate".... it's encouraging and a more enjoyable hobby now. I've taken your DFX gold program, modified it a little for my preferences, and I'm finding more stuff now than ever.
