9\/ Using Gold \u201cCheckers\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n You could say that the preceding information about:<\/p>\n \u2026and\u2026<\/p>\n \u2026are cautions –required reading<\/u><\/em> before you begin to accurately and effectively use \u201cgold checkers.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n That said; these kinds of screens can save a lot of useless digging on signals that have no chance whatsoever of being gold.\u00a0 All that’s required is a simple flick-over to a P1 or \u201cUser Button \/ Previous Mode\u201d setup.\u00a0 While there’s nothing wrong with the thoroughness of open screen digging, in some situations using \u201ccheckers\u201d can be very effective. This may relate to your physical situation and the need to use time effectively and select responses to dig well:<\/p>\n 10\/ Setting up a Gold \u201cChecker\u201d with the CTX\u2019s User Button<\/strong><\/p>\n While hunting in your normal mode, select the program you wish to use as a checker.\u00a0 Then return to the first search mode.\u00a0 Press and hold the \u201cUser\u201d button at right.\u00a0 Scroll down the list to\u201d Previous Mode.\u201d Now when you press the \u201cUser\u201d button the machine will switch between your current and last mode.<\/p>\n Another way to accomplish this is to go to your second preferred mode when you switch off.\u00a0 Then when you resume hunting, move over to your first mode\u2014then your second mode will be available through the \u201cUser\u201d button.\u00a0 This gives you access to four search modes\u2014the P1 and P2 of each of the two.<\/p>\n From: “The Minelab CTX Gold Hunter’s Guide” (2018)<\/p>\n\n
